Found a home in a dining room in Brookline, MA. This is a 4 light Eastlake Chandelier from 1870's, probably Cornelius
Brothers. Cornelius Brother's was the continuation of Cornelius and Baker
Co. that did business in the 1850s and 1860s. Cornelius Brothers was that
business reformed in the 1870"s and they sold Eastlake fixtures which had
become very popular. This light is a really good example of Eastlake
styling which was quite different than the Renaissance Revival, Rococo
Revival and Gothic Revival fixtures of the earlier 1850s and 1860s.
These lights were always a combination of white metal casting and brass
spinnings and tubing. 36" length x 28" diameter.
Outstanding !!!
