This period 3 Arm Gas Chandelier from c. 1890 measures 24" diameter and 36" long and was powered by gas when it was first used before the turn of the century. It has a beautiful old brass patina and is made of solid brass. The beautiful cut glass Gas Shades have a very unique etched Art Nouveau design that works well with the chandelier. I believe these were the original shades. The chandelier has a graceful drape embossed body and the arms have decorative foliate arm backs as they leave the body and run to the decorative gas cocks that were the original controls for tuning the gas on and off. They have been drilled out so we could run wire through them. They are made of very decorative brass castings. The tubing above the body is fluted and then becomes smooth as it goes into the canopy.
